    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals


    In 2015, the United Nations established 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encompassing 169 targets and 230 indicators. These goals aim to guide the global community towards achieving comprehensive development by 2030, prioritizing poverty eradication, environmental protection, social equity, and economic prosperity. The 17 SDGs cover a wide range of areas, including poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water, energy, economic growth, industrial innovation, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, marine ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems, peace and justice, and global partnerships. Together, they represent a shared vision and the challenges of building a better future for all.

    Sustainability Governance at Macao Science Center


    To ensure the orderly advancement and implementation of sustainable development initiatives, Macao Science Center established a Sustainability Task Force in 2024. This task force, composed of representatives from various departments, is responsible for exploring relevant policies, measures, and projects, as well as making recommendations. The Facilities Management and Sustainability Department serve as the coordinating body for the task force, holding regular internal meetings to discuss and review the progress and effectiveness of sustainability-related work. The task force also regularly reports its activities and achievements to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, ensuring that management can stay informed and drive continuous improvement.
