Macao Science Center Joins the National Museum Union for Modern Chinese Scientists and is Included in the online Scientist Map of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the China Association for Science and Technology

On May 30, the National Museum Union for Modern Chinese Scientists was officially established on the National Science and Technology Workers Day and the inaugural exhibition of the National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists. The first group of member units also made appearances. The Macao Science Center became one of the first science and technology venues to join the union. On the same day, the "Scientist Map" produced by the Department of Publicity and Culture of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was officially launched, bringing together rich resources from the National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists and 287 scientific spirit education bases across the country, including the Macao Science Center. As long as the public click on their phone and enter the "Scientist Map" through the "High-quality Services" column of the WeChat official account "CAST Voice", they can get important information about the geographical location, collection characteristics, and spiritual core of each venue, and visit and explore the museum with the help of the navigation function.

The National Museum Union for Modern Chinese Scientists aims to create a museum resource sharing platform for the scientific and technological community, which provides support and services for the co-development of all members, integrates resources, optimizes layout, and carries out joint actions such as collection, cultural relic protection, and exhibition planning, promotion and publicity. The first group of member units of the union consists of 66 units, mainly including museums and science museums with high social awareness, museums named after scientists (libraries, exhibition halls, former residences and memorial halls), museums (exhibition halls and memorial halls) that record important national scientific and technological historical processes, important scientific and technological tasks, and major projects, and national societies and higher education institutions with a good foundation in promoting scientist spirit, as well as publishing and media institutions in the fields of science and culture. In addition to the Macao Science Center, the first group of member units include the National Museum for Modern Chinese Scientists, Qian Xuesen Library & Museum of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Guizhou Bridge Science and Technology Museum of Baling River, Wang Xuan Memorial Exhibition Room of Peking University, Hua Luogeng Memorial Hall in Beijing Institute of Technology and Jintan District, Changzhou City, Chen Jiangong's Former Residence, Deng Jiaxian's Life Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong Science Museum, and Hong Kong Space Museum.

After being awarded by the CAST as a "National Science Popularization and Education Base" and "National Scientist Spirit Education Base" in March and May 2022, the Macao Science Center joined the China Union of Science & Technology and Cultural Venues at the end of 2022. The Macao Science Center has a long-term exhibition hall with the theme of Chinese scientist spirit, displaying the struggles of Chinese scientists on the road to the "Chinese Dream" to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation over the past century, and the great scientist spirit with "patriotism, innovation, pragmatism, dedication, cooperation and education" at the core. After joining the National Museum Union for Modern Chinese Scientists, the Macao Science Center will continue to exchange and cooperate with other members of the union, actively leverage its own advantages and make good use of resources, and strive to promote the scientist spirit to the public in the form of technology and innovation exhibitions, so as to strengthen the inheritance and innovation of scientist spirit.

The Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, and is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve. Please check the latest announcements on Macao Science Center's official website (www.msc.org.mo) and social media accounts for more event information and news.
