Macao Science Center Organized Its Staff to Visit the National Security Education Exhibition

Macao Science Center arranged for approximately 40 board members and staff to visit the “National Security Education Exhibition” today (29th). They not only gained a comprehensive understanding of the overall national security concept, but also grasped the close connection between national security, technological development and societal welfare. This experience enhanced their patriotism and love for Macao and their awareness of national security, and heightened their sense of identity and belonging to the national development blueprint.

As a National Science Popularization Education Base, a Scientist Spirit Education Base, the Center has always integrated national security awareness into its daily science education work and is committed to enhancing the scientific literacy and patriotism of young people.

In recent years, the Center successively established a NetLab, updated its Data Science Gallery, and co-organized the Greater Bay Area Youth AI and CyberSec Challenge, continuously promoting general science education on AI within the community. Through the introduction of various science exhibitions, the Center strives to underscore the accomplishments of national scientific and technological advancements, progressively enhancing education on science and technology security. Looking forward, the Center will actively align its initiatives with the national “15th Five-Year Plan,” and deepen the talent cultivation through “Youth Science and Technology Village” program, strengthen the connection between science popularization education and national development strategies through facilities such as the “BeiDou Science Popularization Base” and the Macao Laboratory of Information Technology Application and Innovation. At the same time, the Center will collaborate with universities, state key laboratories and the technology industry to nurture patriotic and innovative science and technology talents, guiding them to amalgamate scientific and technological innovation with an acute awareness of national security, and encouraging them to utilize their wisdom and abilities to safeguard national security.

In addition, the Center is now diligently preparing to launch the “Public Safety Experience Exhibition” in July, which will disseminate practical knowledge related to disaster prevention and mitigation, emergency self-rescue, etc. The aim of this exhibition is to bolster the community’s overall safety awareness and response capabilities. Please stay tuned for more updates on this exhibition.

Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, and is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Years Eve.
