Regulations
Preface
Dinosaurs once controlled land ecosystems across the world for more than 160 million years. To enable the public to learn more about these prehistoric animals, the Macao Science Center is holding the "Living Dinosaurs: Drawing Contest". After visiting the "Living Dinosaurs” Exhibition, local students are encouraged to express their thoughts on its content through essays and drawings, as well as to engage together in artistic creation.

3 Eligibility
a. Students participating in the contests must hold a valid student card issued by the Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau;
b. Each participant may submit only one work per contest;
c. In order to achieve the goal of fair selection, all Organizer staff, contest judges, and their direct relatives are prohibited from participating. The Organizer has the right to disqualify participants who violate these rules and to recover any awards that have been issued.
4 Registration & Submission of Works
a. The entry form can be downloaded from the Macao Science Center official website at www.msc.org.mo;
b. Please write on the front of the envelope which contest you’re participating in: "Living Dinosaurs: Drawing Contest"
c. Each participant is eligible to receive two coupons to exchange for tickets to enter the Macao Science Center Exhibition Center and the Planetarium, respectively;
d. Works must be submitted at Ticketing Office, located at the main entrance of the Macao Science Center.

Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. Closed Thursdays (except during summer break)
5 Judging Committee
a. The Judging Committee is composed of representatives from the Organizer as well as local experts and academics in relevant fields;
b. Based on decisions made by the Judging Committee, the issuance of various awards can be withheld.
6 Issuance of awards
a. Award winners must present their identification as well as a copy on the date of award collection to allow the Organizer to verify and register the award winner's identity;
b. Cash awards are paid by cheque.

a. For enquiries, please call 87957394 / 87957296 or e-mail writing@msc.org.mo to contact the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right to decide whether or not to respond or to provide an answer through its website;
b. All personal information collected for this contest is solely for use with this event and will be destroyed upon completion of the contest. This is with the exception of use of the material by the Organizer for which the participants provide their consent. If participants wish to change their personal information, please send an e-mail to writing@msc.org.mo.
8 Submission Period
23 March 2016 (Wednesday) to 7 August 2016 (Sunday)
9 Date and location of award presentation
3 September 2016 (Saturday) at the Macao Science Center. (With the exception of award winners, the Organizer will not separately notify other participants of the results)
10 Contest requirements

(1) The subject of the works submitted must be "Living Dinosaurs". Creativity is encouraged, with no restrictions on the type of drawing. Size should be 393×273(mm). 11 Intellectual property rights
The Macao Science Center owns the publishing rights and relevant property rights to the award winning works, and may publish the works itself or authorize another organization to publish them, and may further compile the work into a compendium for publication and issuance without the need to pay additional royalties; The copyright and derivative gains and interests for the award winning works belong solely to the Macao Science Center; Award winners have an obligation to cooperate with the Organizer's requirements relating to further improvement and revisions to the relevant works and to submit an electronic version. In cases where it is preferred that revisions or submission of an electronic version not be carried out, please note this on the contest’s entry form.
12 Other Requirements
a. If the award winning work is suspected of plagiarism, or in the event of litigation as a result of infringements to the copyrights or intellectual property of other individuals, the participant shall assume all legal liability; If plagiarism is confirmed to have occurred, or if a lawsuit is successfully concluded against the defendant, the Organizer has the right to revoke any issued awards or award funds;
b. If the award winning work has previously been issued or published at other competitions, upon confirmation of such circumstances, the Organizer has the right to revoke any issued awards or award funds;
c. If an award winner cannot be contacted, their award status will be revoked.
d. In the event participating works fail to meet the contest criteria, any number of awards may be withheld by decision of the Judging Committee. Under special circumstances, the Judging Committee may also adjust the number or amount of awards;
e. Participating works and copies will not be returned. Contest participants are kindly asked to retain their original drafts.
