Extension of the Exhibition Series “Shining China: Innovation and the Future of Science” Until April 6 Macau Science Center Continues to Offer a Variety of Activities in March to Showcase the Power of Science and Technology
The exhibition series “Shining China: Innovation and the Future of Science”, currently being held at the Macau Science Center, has been well received by both residents and visitors since its launch. To enable more visitors to appreciate China’s remarkable achievements in science and technology, the exhibition period has been extended until April 6. Additionally, the Center will organize various science popularization activities in March to engage the public in witnessing the power of science and technology.
The exhibition series is guided by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macau SAR Government, with support from the Education and Youth Development Bureau. Designed and produced by the China Science and Technology Museum, the exhibition features interactive exhibits, real objects, and valuable photographs that showcase the extraordinary accomplishments, breakthroughs in key core technologies, and inspiring stories of scientists over the 75 years since the founding of New China.
From March 1 to 16, the Center will present science theater performances on Saturdays and Sundays, including “The Core of Heaven and Earth: The Stories of Chinese Scientists”, “Science Drama - Battle with Tooth Worms”, and the storytelling theater “The Tree of Life: Charles Darwin”. Visitors with an Exhibition Center admission ticket can watch these performances free of charge.
The Planetarium will host a dome lecture on "Radio Astronomy" at 5 p.m. on March 15. Dr. Leung Chun-sing, a lecturer from the Department of Applied Mathematics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a member of the International Astronomical Union, will be present to explain the fundamental scientific principles and latest developments in radio astronomy. Free tickets will be available at the Macau Science Center’s ticketing counter on the day of the event.
During March, the Macau Science Center will accept registrations for several major competitions, including the 3rd "Cloud Brush: Creative Image Competition", co-organized with the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau, the "2025 Macau Biodiversity Data Science Challenge", co-organized with Sands China, as well as the DISCOVER and EXPLORE categories of the 2024/2025 FIRST® LEGO® League Macao, which will be held in Macau for the first time. More details can be found on the Center’s website (www.msc.org.mo) and social media pages. Local students are encouraged to participate actively.
The Macau Science Center is open from Monday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year’s Eve, but remains open on public holidays.
