Macao Students and Teachers Achieve Success in the 14th China Adolescents Science Video Festival
From October 25 to 27, the Macao Science Center and the Macau Youth Science Education Association led a delegation of 23 students and teachers from Pui Ching Middle School, Keang Peng School, and Lou Hau High School to Beijing to participate in the public screening, defense, and study activities of the “14th China Adolescents Science Video Festival.” The judging committee first conducted a rigorous review of all entries and selected 153 shortlisted works. The winning projects were then chosen based on the participants' exhibition setups and defense performances. The Macao teams produced seven science videos, winning a total of 12 awards, showcasing their comprehensive abilities in scientific exploration, technological application, aesthetic creativity, and teamwork.
Organized by the China Adolescents Science Education Association, the "China Adolescents Science Video Festival" is one of the annual highlights in the nation’s science popularization field. It provides an opportunity for young people to learn, apply, explore, and practice science video production, encouraging them to delve into science, media technology, and showcase their learning outcomes. This year’s festival, themed "Explore the World of Science, Feel the Charm of Light and Shadow," attracted 1,110 science videos from 34 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and Hong Kong and Macao. The entries covered three major categories: scientific exploration documentaries, science microfilms, and science popularization animations. Among them, 26 videos from Macao were selected and recommended for this year’s festival through the "2023 Youth Science Video Contest" organized by the Macao Science Center and the "Micro Video Competition on Science Popularization for Macao Secondary School Students" organized by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center.
