    "Reading the Beauty of Science Fiction" Sci-fi Literature Lecture Returns with Acclaim on World Book Day Mainland Chinese Sci-Fi Writers Born in the 1980s Visit the Macau University of Science and Technology

    Co-organized by the China Writers Association and the MSC, with the assistance of the Cultural and Sports Development Office of the Macau University of Science and Technology, "Reading the Beauty of Science Fiction" Sci-fi Literature Lecture will be held at 3:00 p.m. on World Book Day (April 23) in the Auditorium D of the Macau University of Science and Technology. Two renowned young Sci-Fi literature writers born in the Mainland China in the 1980s, Fei Jia and Yuan Tong, will share their creative experiences and insights into the current state of Chinese Sci-Fi literature. They will lead the audience to explore the fascinating integration of technology and culture, and jointly delve into the ideal balance between reality and imagination. This is the second collaboration between the China Writers Association and the MSC to organize the Sci-Fi Literature Lecture. Last year's event was a success, attracting many young people to participate. Attendees expressed that such activities not only broaden their understanding of the field of popular science but also inspire their imagination about the future and ignite their enthusiasm for the field of technology.

    This year, the two keynote speakers of the "Reading the Beauty of Science Fiction" sci-fi literature lecture will visit the Macau University of Science and Technology for exchanges. Fei Jia, a Sci-Fi writer born in the 1980s, is a senior expert in the aerospace industry. He was nominated for the 21st Pudong Top Ten Outstanding Youth Award and received the "New Era Shanghai Outstanding Youth" award in 2022. He is also the winner of the 2nd Tianma Literature Award. He excels in writing about the intersection of reality and science fiction. His notable works include the Northern Star, Critical Pathway, and Painting the Sky as a Prison. His works have been selected for key support projects by the China Writers Association. Yuan Tong, a representative Sci-Fi writer born in the 1980s, is the Vice Chairman of the Hebei Province Network Writers Association. He excels in using a light and enjoyable writing style to describe epic and grand science fiction stories. His notable works include Empire of Hope, Notes on Abnormal Creatures, Sword of Dawn, and Remnants of the Deep Sea. His science fiction literary works have won numerous awards and have been adapted into animated series. Among them, Records of Abnormal Creatures was selected for the "New Era Ten-Year Hundred Chinese Internet Literature Works List" (Fantasy category) and won the Crane Cup Internet Literature Award for "Annual Science Fiction Work". Remnants of the Deep Sea was selected for the 2023 China Writers Association's Key Support Project for Internet Literature, under the theme of "Technological Innovation and Science Fiction". It also ranked third in the 2022 Xinhua Cultural Industry IP Adaptation Potential Value List for Animation. Additionally, it won the Best Science Fiction Internet Novel at the 33rd China Science Fiction Galaxy Awards and received the Special Award at the 1st Qidian Science Fiction "Starlight Award".
