To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Macao Science Center organized an exchange event under the theme “Women’s Strength in Technology · Promoting the Spirit of Science,” inviting the Ladies’ Committee of the Macao Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as the Ladies’ Committee of MCC). Yesterday afternoon (the 11th), around 50 members of the committee, led by Director Lam In Nie, visited the Macao Science Center, where they were warmly received by Mok Ian Ian, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Macao Science Center, S.A., Siu Hon Pan, Director of the Macao Science Center and Board Member of the Executive Committee, Board Member U Hon Sang, among others.
Chairperson Mok Ian Ian extended a sincere welcome to the delegation from the Ladies’ Committee of MCC, stating that the integrated promotion of education, science and technology, and talent development is the direction for building a strong nation in science and education. The Macao Science Center is committed to science popularization, enhancing the scientific literacy of the public, and nurturing innovative talents in science and technology. She expressed the hope that visitors to the Science Center would not only experience technological innovation but also feel the warmth and dedication behind the work.
Lam In Nie, Director of the Ladies’ Committee of MCC, expressed her gratitude to the Macao Science Center for inviting the committee to co-organize the International Women’s Day exchange event. She also hoped to strengthen cooperation and exchanges between both parties in the future, sharing information about the Science Center’s activities and scientific knowledge with members and affiliated institutions, and encouraging women to cultivate an interest in science and pay attention to technological developments.
During the visit, the delegation explored the exhibition series "Brilliance of China: Future of Technological Innovation" and the Planetarium. Through interactive exhibits, real model observations, and guided explanations by science presenters, they gained deeper insights into the development of the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" project, key technologies in petroleum exploration and extraction, and the inspiring stories of scientists. The delegation members praised the Macao Science Center for consistently organizing themed exhibitions and events with rich content, disseminating knowledge of cutting-edge technology, showcasing China’s scientific and technological advancements, promoting the spirit of scientists, and providing an immersive audiovisual experience at the Planetarium. They considered the Macao Science Center an excellent venue for people of all ages and associations to engage in scientific exchange.
