Introduction: This event is a fulldome lecture in the planetarium. Dr. Dicong Liang, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the Southern Medical University, is invited to share the story of gravitational waves with the public. As part of the Macao Science Center's 2024 National Science Popularisation Day activities, Dr. Liang will introduce the gravitational waves at the planetarium, describing their concept, detection and discovery, as well as the current research process of gravitational waves, and explain the significance of the "ripples in spacetime" for mankind's understanding of the universe.
