About the Lecturer: Wu Guosheng, Professor and Chair of the Department of the History of Science at Tsinghua University, Professor of the Department of Philosophy, and Curator of the Tsinghua University Science Museum (in development), as well as Chair of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature, Chair of the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology. His main research interests include the Western intellectual history of science, phenomenological philosophy of science and technology, and science communication and science museum. His major academic publications include Thoughts Rooted in History (2018), What is Science (2016), and The Journey of Science (1995).
Introduction: This event is a fulldome lecture in the planetarium. On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the opening of the world's first planetarium to the public and the International Day of Planetariums, Prof. Wu Guosheng, Chair of the Department of the History of Science at Tsinghua University, is invited to talk about the history of human stargazing, the role of stargazing in history, and the impact of stargazing on our minds.
