In response to the Spring Festival holiday (February 10–17) in the Chinese mainland, for the first time Macao Science Center opened its doors during the Chinese New Year period this year. A total of 25,400 admissions were recorded in the eight days, a year-on-year increase of 55% from 2023 and nearly 20% more than that in the same period in 2019. On February 14, 3,727 visitors were recorded, making it the day with the highest number of admissions during the Chinese New Year period.

With the new elements brought by the optimization of its exhibition halls, Macao Science Center actively carries out diversified activities for local residents, students and non-local tourists. It received 662,236 visitors in 2023, an increase of 58.5% compared to 2022. The number of visitors recovered to 96% of the level in 2019.

Macao Science Center will continue to launch various science popularization activities. On February 24, the Center will organize an event called "Enjoy the Full Moon Together at the Lantern Festival" at 8:00 p.m. at the Seaside near the Heart-shaped Tree. In addition to setting up professional visual observation telescopes for participants to observe the full moon and the craters on the moon's surface, the Center will also arrange for staff to tell stories related to the moon. No registration for the above event is required. Interested participants may go to the event venue on their own. However, the above event may be canceled or changed due to factors such as weather. Please check the Center's website and social media for updates. Visitors may also visit the most romantic Stargazer Astronomy Gallery (Gallery 1) in the Center, where they can follow the footsteps of "stargazers" at home and abroad from ancient and modern times to, starting from looking up at the stars, explore the mysteries of the universe and can learn about the milestones and key figures in the development of astronomical observation as well as aerospace science and technology, including the story of Laika, the world's first dog in space. Additionally, Beauty Story, a cosmetic-theme special exhibition, is currently on view at Gallery 2 and the 3D dome show, In Search of the Perfect Planet 3D, at the Planetarium is still the first choice for citizens and tourists visiting the Center.
