Macao Science Center Celebrates the 24th Anniversary of Macao's Handover and the 14th Anniversary of the Opening of Macao Science Center by Releasing Reader on Knowledge of New Science and Technology Official Opening of Cosmetic-Theme Special Exhibition Metamorhosis Beauty and the Astronomy Gallery -Stargazer

To celebrate the 24th anniversary of Macao's handover and the 14th anniversary of the opening of the Macao Science Center (MSC), a series of activities were held, including the launching of the traditional Chinese version of the Reader on Knowledge of New Science and Technology on the 21st, the opening ceremony of Metamorhosis Beauty, a special exhibition on cosmetics, and the opening ceremony of the long-term gallery of the Astronomy Gallery - Stargazer. TDM's Chinese TV channels of TDM Ou Mun and Macao Information premiered on the same day the MSC's special TV program Scientific Innovation Relay Race, which covers five themes, including MSC's primary and secondary school science education, Beidou Navigation Satellite System, innovation in information technology application, cyber security, and green and low-carbon technology.

The traditional Chinese version of the Reader on Knowledge of New Science and Technology, a joint project between the China Association for Science and Technology and MSC, has recently been published by the Macao Daily News Publishing House and is available for sale in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The book covers the country's current major scientific discoveries, scientific breakthroughs, scientific and technological applications, as well as trends in the development of emerging industries. It is a popular science book to enhance the scientific literacy of the readers. The publication of this book in traditional Chinese characters is a manifestation of MSC's response to the revitalization of the country through science and technology and its active integration into the overall development of the country.

The Astronomy Gallery - Stargazer, located at Gallery 1 of MSC Exhibition Center, is a long-term gallery that takes stargazers and astronomers from ancient and modern times as examples to provide the public with an overview of the history of astronomical observation from ancient times to the present day, to make them learn about the stories behind the mysterious starry skies, as well as to showcase the achievements of the country's aerospace science and technology nowadays. The Gallery has been described as the most romantic gallery as it combines astronomy, humanities and history together with art and technology, forming fantastic light and shadow effects.

Organized by the Guangdong Science Center and the Drug Administration of Guangdong Province, and hosted by MSC, Metamorhosis Beauty, a cosmetic-theme special exhibition, aims to demonstrate the birth of cosmetics and the technology that makes people beautiful, and to guide the public in the scientific selection and correct and safe use of cosmetics, as well as to learn about the history and culture of cosmetic related issues. The exhibition will be held from now until March 2024 at Gallery 2 of MSC Exhibition Center.

Macao Science Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday regardless of public holidays, and is closed on Thursdays and Lunar New Year's Eve.
