To celebrate the 12^th anniversary of its opening, Macao Science Center will hold the "Sanrio characters Green Technology Carnival" jointly with Sanrio for the first time. Several popular Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars and Pompompurin will put on their brand new exclusive outfits as cute "Green Technology Ambassadors" to show everyone the green building elements inside and outside the Center. Fans will be able to learn green technology-related knowledge in their company and hopefully become green technology experts.

Macao Science Center was awarded the "Three-starred Certificate of Green Building Design Label" by the China Green Building and Energy Saving (Macau) Association in 2016, the highest level of green building design certificate in China. The Center is also the first institution in Macao to receive this honor. Buildings applying for the Three-starred Certificate of the "Green Building Design Rating Certificate" must meet various indicators of the green building evaluation, including outdoor and indoor environment quality, energy and water resources utilization, and daily operation management, and can be awarded this Certificate only after most of the indicators are excellent.

Macao Science Center's architectural complex has become an exhibit for practicing green building design and environmental protection applications. The Center adheres to its purpose and the 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Replace) principle of environmental protection. Through the combination of environmental protection and popular science education, the public can understand the relationship between life and environmental protection.

She is responsible for the green design of buildings, hoping that more green technologies can be applied in each building to reduce environmental pollution and resource consumption.	Pompompurin: Astronomer. He watches the stars every night with an astronomical telescope. It is his hope that humans will reduce light pollution so that he can see more bright stars.	Little Twin Stars: Lala and Kiki are both plant doctors. They are responsible for observing, irrigating and fertilizing plants. Whenever a plant gets sick, they will provide treatment immediately. Lala and Kiki's favorite plant is the "heart-shaped tree".
