Planetarium Show Ticket Price Adjustment
Effective from Tuesday, 15 May, Macao Science Center will adjust the Standard and Group admission fares to its Planetarium. The standard ticket prices for 2D and 3D Dome/Sky Shows will increase to MOP50 and MOP65 respectively whereas the ticket prices for groups of 20 or more will increase to MOP40 and MOP50 respectively. The admission fare to the Exhibition Center and of other special and general concessionary tickets to the Planetarium will remain unchanged. Macao Science Center co-organises with the Chinese Educators Association of Macao the “Exhibition of Selected Works from the Painting Contest for Macao Students”
 
To celebrate the 1st Anniversary, Macao Science Center co-organises with the Chinese Educators Association of Macao the “Exhibition of Selected Works from the Painting Contest for Macao Students”, displaying 45 first-prize winning paintings involving the Macao Science Center buildings by secondary, primary and kindergarten students. The works will be exhibited from 19 December onward at the Special Exhibition Gallery (Gallery 2) in the Exhibition Center.

The 32nd Painting Contest for Macao Students was held on 30 October by the Chinese Educators Association of Macao. The Contest attracted 1,765 participating students from 51 schools to freely compose their creations in sketching style or art forms with the Science Center and its ambiences, within a limited time on location. 5 entry categories, namely Lower Primary & Kindergarten Level; Middle Primary Level; Upper Primary Level; Junior Secondary Level and Senior Secondary Level, contested simultaneously and generated a total of 439 winning works (45 First Prize, 131 Second Prize and 263 Finalist Awards) by the judging panel comprised of renown representatives from the arts communities, including Mr. Kuan Kun Cheong, Mr. Cheong Sio Chun, Mr. Sio In Leong, Mr. Fok Chi Chiu, Mr. Choi San, Mr. Lei Chi Ngok and Mr. Li Tak Seng.

The contest is held each year to stimulate the interest in paintings and to help teenagers attain a higher level in arts through nurturing their capabilities in observation and creation with on-site drawing. The exhibition displays the 45 First Prize winning works from the 5 entry categories, especially featuring two art pieces from the Senior Secondary Level rewarded the “Lok Cheong Memorial Award” and the “Kwok Se Memorial Award”, one art piece from the Lower Primary & Kindergarten Level rewarded the “Kwok Woon Best Creativity Award”.

The opening hours of the Macao Science Center are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays and public holidays, with exception on Thursdays and Lunar New Year’s Eve. Visitors can reach the Macao Science Center by taking buses 3A, 8, 10A and 12. A paid underground public car park is also available at the Center.
