Macao Science Center attracted over 21,100 visitors during Lunar New Year
During the 2010 Lunar New Year period (the first 8 days of the Lunar New Year), Macao Science Center attracted more than 21,100 visitors to the Exhibition Center and the Planetarium, over 80% of which are local residents.
Since its opening to general public on 25 January 2010, Macao Science Center has been receiving a large number of local residents and tourists. Many visitors came with their families and children for parental bonding and educational activities while the Center remained open during the Lunar New Year holidays. The Dome Shows offered at the Planetarium, including “Dawn of the Space Age 3D” and “Cosmic Collisions” were so popular on those days that most scheduled shows were sold out. Many visitors considered the shows both exciting and entertaining, and can play a role in cultivating children’s interests in Space Science.
