| In order to study the operations and development trends of science centers in other parts of the world, Administrative Member of the Macao Foundation, Mr. Lam Kam Seng, the Director General of the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau, Mr. Jose Chui, the Director General of CPTTM, Mr. Victor Manual Kuan, the Project Architect of Pei Partnership Architects, Mr. Ralph Heisel, and the Project Manager of Pei Partnership Architects, Mr. Stephen Achilles, flew to Europe in June 2002 to visit targetted science centers. During their trip they visited the Deutsches Museum, Cite des Sciences de L’Industrie, together with the Science Museum in London and the Science Centre in Glasgow. They received warm welcomes from all parties visited and were able to gather substantial input from their experiences. During this trip, they learned that no matter whether museums/centers are traditional or modern, they all rely on the ability to renew hands-on exhibitions regularly. |
