Regulations of "Museums and Tourism" Photography Contest
International Museum Day of Macao, 2009

1.	Organisers:
	Communications Museum, Dr. Sun Iat Sen’s Memorial House in Macau, Fire Services Museum, Grand Prix Museum, Handover Gifts Museum of Macao, Heritage Exhibition of a Traditional Pawnshop Business, Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao, Macao Museum, Macao Museum of Art, Macao Science Center, Macao Tea Culture House, Maritime Museum, Museum of the Holy House of Mercy, Museum of the Macao Security Forces, Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, The Natural and Agrarian Museum, The Taipa Houses-Museum, Wine Museum

2.	Aim of the contest:
	For tourists and local residents to present the aesthetic and dynamic aspects of local museums through photographs decorated with personal sentiments after visiting the museums.

3.	Entry Groups:
	A. Public Group: No restriction on nationality, age and place of residence. B. Student Group: Holders of valid student card issued by DSEJ, Macao.

4.	Requirements and the contents of entry:
	A. Requirements: a. Each participant can submit no more than five entries. b. A complete entry should have one entry form and up to 5 sets of i) a photograph, ii) a passage of "personal feeling behind the picture" or photograph concept and iii) soft copy or the photograph(s). c. The size of the photograph should be 8 inches x 10 inches (20.3cm x 25.4cm) in B/W or full colour. Each photograph must be mounted on a 12 inches x14 inches (30.5cm x 35.5cm) black cardboard paper with a "personal feeling behind the picture" or concept (less than 300 words)written/printed on the cardboard paper. (as shown in the sample.) d. No personal information should be shown on any parts of the cardboard paper. e. A CD or DVD containing the photograph(s) in JPEG format should be submitted. B. Contents: Can focus on the exterior, special features or activities held in any museum in Macao.

5.	Awards:
	A. Public group: 3 public group "Best of the contest" awards: MOP2,000 with a certificate. 1 public group "Best theme" award: MOP1,000 with a certificate. 1 public group "Museum best characterised" award: MOP1,000 with a certificate. 1 public group "Tourism best presented" award: MOP1,000 with a certificate. 1 public group "Macao best featured" award: MOP1,000 with a certificate. 1 public group "Most creative" award: MOP1,000 with a certificate. B. Student group: 5 student group "Best of the contest" awards: MOP 600 book coupon with a certificate. 1 student group "Best theme" award: MOP 400 book coupon with a certificate. 1 student group "Museum best characterised" award: MOP 400 book coupon with a certificate. 1 student group "Tourism best presented" award: MOP 400 book coupon with a certificate. 1 student group "Macao best featured" award: MOP 400 book coupon with a certificate. 1 student group "Most creative" award: MOP 400 book coupon with a certificate.

6.	Entry collection schedule:
	2 February 2009 to 31 March 2009, office hours.

7.	Submission spots:

8.	Adjudication panel:
	The adjudication panel will comprise representatives from the Organisers and local photographers.

9.	Award announcement:
	Results will be announced on the webpage "Museums of Macao" http://www.museums.gov.mo before 30 April 2009.

10.	Date and venue of the award presentation:
	3 May 2009 on the opening of the "Carnival of International Museum Day, Macao 2009" event.

11.	Points to note:
	A. Each entry submitted must be the author’s original creation that has never been published. B. The participant is responsible for all the legal responsibilities that might arise with any copyright infringement issues. C. Submissions will not be returned. The Organisers reserve the right to use adopted entries on any promotional purposes (which might involve modification of the photographs) without paying any charge or notification in advance. D. Each participant can only adopt one award. E. The adjudication panel decision remains final. F. The Organisers reserve the right to reclaim the awards and the certificates from any participant when the regulations are violated. G. The Organisers reserve the right to explain or change the regulations any time. H. Staff from the Organisers are not eligible to participate in the contest.
